About
I am Hang Li, a sociologist and lecturer in the Department of Sociology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. My research examines contentious politics and young people’s experiences in contemporary society and is supported by competitive grants from the Research Grants Council. I have also led research on youth drug risk perception, supported by the Public Policy Research Funding Scheme. My work has appeared in Chinese Sociological Review, Journal of Substance Use, and other peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. In my teaching and pedagogical work, I advocate the Students-as-Partners approach and am currently examining its role in AI-mediated higher education, supported by the Teaching Development and Language Enhancement Grant.
