About

I am Hang Li, a sociologist exploring the dynamics of contentious politics and youth experiences in contemporary society. As a lecturer in the Department of Sociology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, I bring over a decade of expertise in teaching sociological theory, environmental sociology, and contentious politics.

My research includes work on movement tactics in post-1997 Hong Kong, supported by the Research Grants Council's Faculty Development Scheme. I have also led research on youth's drug risk perception, funded by the HKSAR Public Policy Research Funding Scheme. My interdisciplinary work spans civic engagement, youth identity formation, and drug rehabilitation programs.
