Hello! My name is Lauren Hurst I am a junior at the University of Vermont pursuing a major in Secondary Education with a concentration in Earth Science and a minor in Special Education. I come from three generations of teachers on my mother's side so I like to say that teaching runs in my family!

I grew up in Somers, New York which is about an hour outside of New York City. I enjoy ballet, hiking, rock and ice climbing, skiing, camping, backpacking, and really anything that involves the outdoors!

I was lucky enough to travel to Iceland on a school field trip in high school and Alaska two summers ago with my family so many of the pictures on my site are from those trips!

I'm taking this class beacuse science specifically the earth sciences have always been a love of mine. I'm looking forward to learning more about geologic formations and how they came to be.
