When Mike Campbell retired in 2021 after spending 47 years as the head baseball coach at Lewisville High School, district administration didn’t have to look far for its new skipper.

LHS named the field after Campbell, who spent 47 years as the head coach of the Fighting Farmers and amassed a school-record 703 wins during his career.
The baseball program's Twitter account tweeted that Campbell's son, Stephen, has been named the team's next head coach. Stephen Campbell has spent the past three seasons as the head baseball coach at Irving.
