Greetings Fighting Farmer Nation,
I hope this message finds you and your family well. I am honored to serve in the capacity as the 2023/2024 Baseball Booster Board President. Over the last several months, I have learned more than I thought possible. I am energized by the opportunity, enthused from a renewed love for the game by watching these young men, and emblazoned to set a path for this program along with my fellow Board members.
A successful Booster Club is one that focuses on each of the players, regardless of abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Our ultimate goal is for these players to succeed in LIFE, not just baseball. Baseball is a small part of it, but more importantly, it is about developing these young men to:
Have teamwork
Demonstrate integrity
Show respect for each other and the game
Admire their parents and coaches who believe in them
Celebrate wins and, yes, celebrate losses that teach us to be more prepared next time around
I accepted this role because that was exactly the mission statement of our Head Coach. Yes, winning is important and championships are great, but not if these players are left void of all the other, more important lessons in life.
I am very grateful to my fellow Board members and Chairs who push this program to its greatness. I am reminded almost daily of the commitment it takes to have a successful program—one that gives back to the school, the program, and the players. This truly takes a village, and I am entrusted with one I am proud to be a part of.
I am grateful for our Coaches, our Parents, and our Players. We need all three to be successful and to create something special that will make lifetime memories for all of us.
In closing, I look forward to many great baseball games, cheering each of your players on. I hope you do the same.
Lee Woodham
