David "Mr. Mustachio" Taylor: Scoutmaster/Course Director

Scouting has afforded me many opportunities that I may not have had otherwise. I will forever be grateful for the skills and friendships that have been made in many years with the program. I started my scouting career at the age of 8 and have been involved with the program ever since. I earned my Arrow of Light and my Eagle Scout Rank. I fully enjoyed scouting, and the adventures that were had canoeing down the Colorado River or backpacking in the High Sierras. As an adult I have had the great pleasure of wearing many hats: den leader, cubmaster, troop committee chair, assistant cubmaster, unit commissioner, merit badge counselor, and committee member. I have gotten to see my two boys both become eagles, thoroughly enjoying the smiles they wore on their faces as they participated in their own adventures, creating their own lifetime special memories. That’s what scouting does, it shapes our lives, puts smiles on our faces, and produces memories that we can share with others. Funny the whole time this is all happening, we are becoming leaders. I am grateful for those that have poured into me, helping me become who I am today, and I want to pass that along to others. I want others to have the joy I received from the program.

She has received several scouting awards including the Buckskin Award, President’s Award, District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver. She enjoys spending time on the Farm with her husband, Tom; spending time with her 2 sons, Mark (Eagle Scout) and Steve; and loves watching them use the knowledge and skills they learned in Scouting in their daily and professional lives. Their three sons (all Eagle Scouts) have aged out, but they continue to be involved as registered leaders along with their wives in Troop 4012GT.
