FAQ: Emergency Light & Power Cell
1. How much saltwater should be added to the Power Cell?
Add approximately 40ml of saltwater. We provide a measuring bottle with clear markings.
Adding two full bottles of saltwater will provide up to 48 hours of continuous illumination.
2. What is the recommended ratio of salt to water?
Add 2–3g of salt to 40ml of water to achieve a concentration of 5%–7%. The cap of the
included plastic bottle holds approximately 2–3g, making it a perfect measuring tool.
3. Is purified water required? Are there specific water quality standards?
No purified water is necessary. Tap water, rainwater, or river water are all suitable. Seawater
can be used directly without adding salt. In extreme survival situations, urine can also be
used as a last resort for power.
4. Does the saltwater need to be replaced?
Yes. While 40ml of saltwater can last up to 48 hours, we recommend replacing the saltwater
every 6–8 hours to maintain maximum brightness and optimal chemical activity, though
this is not strictly required.
5. What should I do once the Power Cell is depleted?
Once the Power Cell is exhausted, simply detach the LED lighting module and replace it with
a new Power Cell.
6. Is the used saltwater toxic?
The used saltwater will turn into an off-white paste. This is Magnesium Hydroxide (Mg(OH)2 )
precipitate—an eco-friendly, non-toxic byproduct of the reaction. While non-toxic, it is not
potable. Please rinse with fresh water if it comes into contact with your skin.
7. Should I drain the saltwater when the device is not in use?
You may leave it in, as fuel cell consumption is negligible once the module is switched off.
However, to avoid accidental leakage, we recommend draining the saltwater, rinsing the unit
with clean water, and allowing it to air dry after use.
8. Can the device be used in extremely cold environments?
The device operates normally between -20°C and 50°C (-4°F to 122°F). In sub-zero
temperatures, increase the salt concentration to approximately 20% to prevent the solution
from freezing.
Expert Tip for Live Demonstrations
If conditions allow, use muddy or turbid water for your demonstration. Lighting the lamp
with "dirty" water creates a powerful visual contrast, proving the device’s extreme reliability
in emergency scenarios where clean water is a luxury
