All types of License to Own and Possess Firearm, Long Certificate of Registration, and Short Certificate of Registration shall be renewed every two (2) years. Failure to renew license shall cause automatic revocation.
The registration of the firearm shall be renewed every 4 years. Failure to renew the registration shall cause automatic revocation.
The application for the renewal of the license or firearm registration may be submitted to the FEO within 6 months before the date of expiration.
If an application for renewal is filed at least 90 days prior to its expiration date, the expiring license shall remain valid until a decision is rendered on the application for renewal.
Maintenance and Inventory
The LGUs shall maintain an inventory of their firearms and ammunition. Likewise, the LGUs shall submit Annual Inventory Report and other related reports to the FEO or concerned PNP units.
Voluntary Surrender or Deposit of all Firearms with Expired Registration
All firearms with expired registration are required to be surrendered or deposited at the nearest Police Station or Regional Civil Security Unit. Failure to surrender within the period provided by law shall cause the filing of appropriate charges.
An Acknowledgement Receipt will be given to those who deposit their firearms, which can be withdrawn upon renewal of their registration.
