Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 124, dated November 26, 2001, the 3rd week of November each year has been designated as Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week. It aims to promote public awareness regarding the detrimental effects of illegal drug use and to foster public cooperation in the government’s anti-drug campaign.
The theme for this year is "Prioritizing Health-based Approach in Drug Abuse Prevention and Control", the said theme aligns with the President’s commitment to prioritizing treatment, rehabilitation, reintegration, aftercare interventions, and health within drug use prevention and control initiatives.
Aside from planned BIDA-related activities, the LGUs in celebration of DAPC may conduct the following activities:
Display of street banners or streamers bearing the theme of the DAPC week;
Conduct of mobilization in the form of street parades and organized assemblies where the theme of the DAPC Week is highlighted;
Distribution of relevant information materials, i.e. leaflets and bulletin boards in public spaces such as in the market, parks, transport terminals, etc.;
Posting of information materials through social media platforms, i.e. Facebook, Instagram, etc.;
