Pursuant to Sections 447(a)(1)(v) for Municipalities, 458(a)(1)(v) for Cities, and 468(a)(1)(v) of Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code, all Local Government Units (LGUs) are mandated to enact ordinances intended to prevent, suppress, and impose appropriate penalties for..., vagrancy, mendicancy, .., and such other activities inimical to the welfare and morals of the inhabitants.
Relative thereto, all Provincial, City, and Municipal Governments concerned are hereby reminded of the duties and responsibilities provided by the Local Government Code and other applicable governing laws and policies, particularly:
a) formulating and implementing measures' to prevent, suppress, and address the proliferation of mendicancy and vagrancy in their respective localities;
b) coordinating with other concerned government agencies, private sector, civil society organizations (CSOs), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in enforcing such local measures; and.
c) monitoring the status of mendicancy and vagrancy in the areas of jurisdiction.
