Simultaneous  Nationwide Tree Planting Activity: Buhayin ang Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan

The DENR, DILG, DA, representatives from CSO, and other stakeholders forged a collaboration towards addressing environmental concerns. Their collaborations resulted in a nationwide simultaneous tree planting activity last September 13, 2022 with the theme "Buhayin ang Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan". The selected planting sites where identified by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources all over the country. (MC 2022-111)

For the sustainability and maintenance of the planting sites, all concerned Barangay Officials are required to conduct a quarterly monitoring and cleaning of the panting sites under their care and assign a barangay personnel for the maintenance of the planting sites. (Advisory dated April 24, 2023)

Role of LGUs

Barangay Officials:

For the sustainability and maintenance of the planting sites. 

• Establish a signage with the words: "This planting site is under the care of (name of the Punong Barangay); area of the planting sites; number of seedlings planted".

• Schedule quarterly monitoring and cleaning of the planting sites

• Assign barangay personnel for the quarterly cleaning of the planting site under their care

• Specify the distance from the planting site to the nursery and identify transportation needs, materials and equipment, and may allocate a budget for that purpose

Role of DILG

Submit a Quarterly Regional Consolidated Report to the Central Office

1st Anniversary

Per Advisory dated September 5, 2023 re 1st Anniversary of the Simultaneous Nationwide Tree Planting, to celebrate the abovementioned subject, All LCEs, particularly Punong Barangays, are enjoined to conduct a tree planting activity on September 13, 2023 with the objective to plant more trees, and replace those seedlings that did not survive for the past year and submit latest pictures of the tree planting sites.
