Databases
lgeoip uses a combination of publicly available and proprietary databases to determine geolocation as accurately as possible and detect anonymous traffic.
Data sources used:
Maxmind GeoLite2 City — Determines the geographical location: country, region, city, coordinates and postal code based on the IP address.
Maxmind GeoLite2 ASN — Defines the autonomous system (AS) and its number (ASN) to which the IP address belongs, as well as the name of the provider organization (ISP).
IP2Proxy PX12 — A specialized database for detecting public proxy servers and VPNs.
Own local database of ASN hosting/data centers — Our key advantage. An automatically updated database containing more than 140 ASNs of the largest hosting providers, cloud platforms and data centers, which covers over 500,000,000 (500 million) IP addresses. This database allows you to accurately distinguish traffic from real Internet service providers (ISPs) of users from traffic going through the infrastructure for anonymization.
