I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where I learned about serving others. For high school, my parents sent me to private catholic school to instill the importance of service in the community. I had the opportunity to assist the homeless, run track my classmates with disabilities, and give my time to dance marathons. It did not take long for me to realize that making a difference in my community by helping others brought me true happiness.
All of my life, I was around sports; specifically volleyball. Through volleyball, I learned how to take leadership and stay motivated to make a difference in the community. I play at the varsity level all 4 years of high school and was the team captain for the last 2 years. I quickly learned to love taking the role of being a leader, so I became a volleyball coach. I have been coaching volleyball for about 5 years now at the high school varsity level and still learn something new every day. Seeing the positive results after a reinforcement kept me motivated in seeking a lifelong career by leading. Although I already attained some leadership skills, the experience of being a coach has given me more confidence in being a great leader and taking initiative to work together.
