Though I now call Toronto home, I'm originally from coastal British Columbia, a province on the west coast of Canada. Growing up on the ocean and in the woods, I developed a love for the outdoors – especially hiking, beachcombing, and kayaking. In my spare time, I play softball with an awesome local league for queer and queer-allied women and trans folks: this season, I'm working on my triples. I also play clawhammer banjo, and have a serious fondness for old time, folk, and bluegrass music. I'm a bit of a beer geek, and dabble a little in home-brewing as well.
I'm fortunate that being a graduate student has afforded me lots of opportunities to travel to new places to attend conferences, often places that I wouldn't have thought to visit otherwise. My favourite haunts are usually the local coffee shops and craft breweries!
