BLOCKING

Once I had finalized my shot list and moved into the production proper, I allocated the first couple weeks of my schedule to animation blocking.

An initial blocking pass, splined for viewing

The initial intention, was to get a rough blocking pass of the entire film done, that I could then go back and refine. In hindsight I was slightly ambitious in my estimations as I was barely able to get half the film blocked in the allocated time. And, If I'm being totally honest, I think this was partially down to tardiness. I also think I have a tendency to get fixated on the small details which somewhat defeats the purpose of a blocking pass.

In an effort to stick to my schedule, I essentially abandoned the plan of a full block-out, and instead opted to move into animation on a shot-by-shot basis.
