Our Mission: The Lewes Education Coalition promotes educational experiences for students, utilizing the multidisciplinary resources and opportunities in Lewes, Delaware.
Originally formed in 2011, the Coalition really began to coalesce in 2012 making headway in determining our identity, objectives, and potential pilot projects. Our goal is to remind classroom teachers, K-16, that the town of Lewes is rich with educational and engaging field-trip potential in not just history, but science, technology, engineering, math, and the arts. Where possible, our materials and content are aligned to Delaware education standards.
The LEC is a component fund of the Greater Lewes Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Like many other groups in Lewes, we operate under the GLF's by-laws; and we are in the process of creating our own Rules and Procedures document.
