Feb. 25. A collaborative work has now been published and is available online in the Journal of International Impact Engineering.

• In January 2024, I presented my exploratory work on the development of a structurally integrated thermal protection system using Ox/Ox ceramic matrix composite at the annual conference on composites, materials, and structures. It was an export controlled and ITAR restricted conference held at St. Agustine, FL.

• In June 2023, I transferred from Konkuk University in South Korea to Baylor University in Texas. At Baylor, I continue my research on thermal protection system materials and work with ceramic matrix composites.

• January 2023:  I attended the virtual sessions of the AIAA SCITECH 2023 Forum. I presented a recent study on the design assessment of a metallic Thermal Protection System (TPS) for reentry vehicles through an analysis of thermomechanical and impact characteristics. The study includes analytical modeling, finite element modeling, and testing of the outer sandwich structure and the metallic TPS panel under a simulated heating rate of 7.1 W/cm2. • May 2022: Two papers have been accepted for publication in Aerospace Science and Technology (IF 5.1, ranking #7 in Aerospace Engineering, and Thin-Walled Structures (IF. 4.42, Q1, rank #19/135 in Mechanics)

• Jan. 21 2022: Our recent paper published on Composites Part B: Engineering is ranked in the most downloaded articles from the Journal in the last 90 days (#6). 

• Dec. 2021: A patent has been granted in Korea. The patent is about structural health monitoring apparatus using digital image correlation technique.
