The Light-enabled Bio-Discoveries Lab is a home for bold innovations at the intersection of classical and quantum optics, aimed at deciphering the rules of life.
Our research group is driven to develop optical imaging and sensing strategies that are capable of overcoming fundamental limitations set by traditional methods. We seek to exploit the various degrees of freedom of light to create designer optical beams that enables structural and dynamic functional information of living systems to be extracted non-invasively. Our research strategies are driven by our goals of 1.) elevating the predictive power of life science experimental research and 2.) ensuring that our innovations generate tangible benefits for the broader community.
