Learnings from this Conversation
The Manosphere has two differnt sides to it. Positively, the Manosphere is one of the only places on the internet discussing masculinity outside academia, so it can serve at a platform for men to have these discussions. However, on the negative side, the type masculinity that is discussed is mainly traditional masculinity and claimed this is the "best" and only way. It can be impossible to seperate these two intertwined parts.
The Manosphere is attractive to many men becasue in an "ulta-woke" world, manliness and masculinity is not often discussed and it offers an outlit for this.
"Traditon mansculinity is refered too as toxic masculinity" which discounts the men who want to fufill a more tradtional role. Those men are left out of the conversation. Men like Jordan Peterson are some of the only men talking about these things, so when looking for rolemodels there are limited options.
It can be easier to for men to talk to men about masculinity than talking with women.
