Information We Collect

Personal Information

Profile Data: Name, profile photo, and basic riding statistics you choose to share

Location Data: With location permission and Background recording On in Privacy, active rides record GPS position, speed, distance and route, including while the screen is off. Paused movement is not added to the ride. You can turn background recording off. Sharing your location with other users is a separate privacy setting; force-stop and phone battery restrictions can interrupt recording.

Device Information: Device identifiers for app functionality and security

Usage Data: Anonymous usage statistics to improve the app experience

Social Features Data

Community Profile: Public profile information (name, photo, riding stats, vehicle type)

Rider Interactions: Connection requests, messages, and group ride participation

Location Sharing: Real-time location sharing with other riders when you enable it in Privacy settings

Ride History: Trip data that may be shared in community features (with your consent)

Bluetooth Data

E-bike Connection: Bluetooth access to connect to your e-bike or sensors for real-time monitoring

Device Pairing: Paired device information stored locally on your device

Performance Data: Speed, battery, and other metrics from connected devices

Data Storage and Security

Local vs. Cloud Storage

Local Storage: Trip history, preferences, and cached data on your device

Secure Cloud: Account, profile, community and uploaded ride data are stored using Supabase account, database and photo storage. Mapbox and WeatherAPI process requests that may include coordinates. AdMob may process device and advertising data when ads are shown; ad consent choices apply where required. Trial dates, membership status and store purchase identifiers are used to verify access. Card details are handled by the store, not collected by this app.

Encryption: Sensitive data encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)

No Data Selling: We do not sell your personal data to third parties

Community Data Protection

Visibility Controls: Privacy settings control location sharing, map visibility, and social features

Location Privacy: Location sharing can be disabled at any time in Settings → Privacy

Profile Management: Control your public profile information

Data Deletion: Account deletion in Settings is verified on the server. Deleting your account also removes groups you created and their chats/routes. It does not cancel store subscriptions; manage them in Google Play or Apple. A pending complaint or evidence may need review before deletion. If deletion cannot be confirmed, some photos may already have been removed; retry or contact appletsride@gmail.com. Removed photos cannot be restored if a later step fails.

Location Data Usage

Navigation Features

Purpose: Route planning, turn-by-turn directions, and trip tracking

Retention: Trip history stored according to your settings; deletable by you

Sharing: Not shared with other users unless you enable location sharing

Community Features

Real-time Sharing: Optional — only when location sharing is enabled

Privacy Controls: Disable location sharing, map visibility, or social features independently

Communication Features

Messages: In-app messaging between connected riders

Group Chats: Group messages and compressed photos are stored on our servers and shown to authorized group members, including free members. Only photos you choose to send are uploaded; we do not upload your whole gallery. Members may save copies they can access.

Notifications: Device push tokens and notification preferences are used to deliver messages and invitations, including when the app is closed. Sound and delivery also depend on phone permissions and system settings.

## Children's Privacy

App is intended for users 13 years and older

Users under 18 should use social features with parental guidance

 Data Retention

Active Accounts: Basic account data is retained while your account is active. Free and Premium share the same chat policy: chat photos 30 days, other messages 90 days. The current group route/card and pending report evidence are kept. Cleanup starts after a 30-day transition; recipient copies and backups are separate.

Deletion Requests: Processed when you delete your account in settings

Legal Requirements: Some data may be retained where required by law
