This is a good amount of time to make a witness and still maintain good relations with your neighbors.
You can express both your frustration and your hope in a non violent and powerful way. Ringing a bell calls attention to our concern for the direction our country is going. We want a different vision for America!
Try to keep it as simple and easy to read as possible. SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY, LET FEEDOM RING. I have also seen NO ICE, NO WAR, NO KING, LET FREEDOM RING.
We are a small group of Quakers and others that have been inspired by the different movements for equality, peace, and justice that we see in this country. We want to take that inspiration and carry it forward in a way that builds hope and community. We are not an organization but simply a group of people hoping to make a difference in some small but significant way.
It takes great courage to take a stand right where we live. It takes a few courageous people to show that they are not afraid. Others will follow. This is how it starts and can grow.
