There is a step by step tutorial for each discipline that is offered at the beginning, but can always be accessed later.

The competitions (Show Jumping and Cross Country) are on a timer, giving you penalty points for exceeding the limit. Dressage awards grades 0-10 for each dressage figure. You compete against 4 NPCs (only shown in the list, or visible on the podium if you come in 1st place), rider with the least penalty points wins (on a tie, rider with shortest completion time).

When riding, you can change the standard camera view by hitting "Enter" to Rider POV (tack will magically disappear), Horse POV or bird's eye view (pretty useless, but maybe a nod to the first Riding Star game?)

There's a career mode and a quick mode. In career mode, you can work your way up through the 4 stages of tournaments with each of your horses. You own a separate horse for each discipline that you can customize from three options for coat and mane color.

In quick mode, you can choose a competition course (of those you have unlocked in career mode) and compete with a preset rider and horse.

There is no storyline.

All your horses start as untrained and you must improve their performances to enable you to compete in a tournament. The training includes improving speed, power, stamina, motivation and obedience. This kind of training makes this game very realistic because your horse will have to learn along with you. Besides improving the skills of your horse, you must take care of his needs, like cleanliness, hunger, thirst and health. You must also groom your horse and in order to do that you need to brush him, stroke and comb his coat, pick its hooves and give him treats. When you choose which horse you want to mount, you can place and choose the saddles, the blanket and bandages.

i mainly play sso for the horse training and other mindless repetitive tasks bc i find them relaxing. im about to max my last horse and i cant afford another bc im saving up for some of the items at starshine ranch.

since ive started sso, ive basically avoided riding my horses that are level 15, (with the exception of my starter horse) bc i mainly just play the game by training horses, so theres no point in me riding my maxed out ones. after ive maxed out my last horse, im gonna have to start riding my level 15 horses, which on one hand will be nice to ride the horses that i havent ridden in a while, but on the other hand it feels sort of pointless? especially bc ill likely still be doing some races just for the fun of it.

Anyhow, I think there is a chance any of the Star Wars rides could cause motion sickness, depending on how you personally react. I get motion sickness on some rides, but none of the Star Wars rides affect me.

Next I got on and we did the same star pattern (diagram B) mounted at the walk. He did great, especially after we had ridden through it once or twice. By the end, he seemed a lot more comfortable about moving forward for the entire distance. This is also a great exercise for walking in straight lines. The horse learns that once you point him in a certain direction, he should keep going, until you give further instructions.

Dalton, 12, returned from Shawnee last month as the 2012 National Steer Riding Champion in his age category, defeating three dozen other riders in the three-day event. And to make the trip home even sweeter, he was joined by three other members of the Pacific Coast Junior Bull Riders, a Norco club, who placed in the top 10 in various categories.

Dalton recovered, of course, and is undeterred about the dangers of riding. In fact, other than owning a ranch some day and traveling around the country, his goal is to compete and win on the professional circuit.

Full disclosure: I have only been on Flight of Passage once. Well I guess you could say one and a half times. About halfway through my first experience it paused and completely reset. After a few minutes the Cast Members checked in on everyone and then the attraction started over completely.

When I entered the theater, where the attraction actually takes place, I really began to get nervous. The theater is a multi-story screen and there are multiple rows of the ride vehicles. Each of these rows are on their own platform. When getting onto the ride vehicle I had a mix of excitement and anxiousness. Overall being on the vehicle felt fairly comfortable. But you are facing downward at an angle, and there is a harness that comes down to the small of your back. There really is no other ride vehicle like it at Walt Disney World.

As I watched the platform move, the motion of the screen had a less of an impact. But the motion of the ride vehicle still remained. I was impressed and timid at how deep some of the dips are. The ride vehicle does not tilt up or down individually, but the platforms that the row of vehicles are on do dip up and down like an elevator platform, and tilt back and forth a little. The tilting is not as dramatic as some of the dips are. Watching the platform reduced the dramatic impact the motion on the screen had, but I could still feel the motion of the ride and platform. I am sure a few screams and squeals escaped me.

I am glad I experienced Flight of Passage. It is not scary, but it is thrilling and intense. My motion sensitivity was definitely impacted and I needed to be outside in the fresh air for about an hour afterwards to come back down from the rush. I have not ridden Flight of Passage since that first visit, and that was when the attraction first opened. Once my son is tall enough to go on it and we can all go together I will ride it again. But, as wonderful and impressive as the attraction is, it took a lot for me to get through it, so I am in no hurry to board a Banshee again.

I rode this for the first time when we were there in August. My daughter got fast passes because they screwed up her tickets when she checked in at the hotel. So no line. The ride is pretty exciting, on a par with some others like Space Mountain or Rock-n-Roller Coaster. I got fairly nauseous at a couple points though and had to look away from the screen. Definitely worth at least one ride. ff782bc1db
