What does a herbalist do, you ask? 

Practically speaking, a herbalist uses medicinal plants in the form of teas, tinctures, and other preparations for the purpose of curing or alleviating an illness. On a deeper level, a herbalist is a bridge between plants and people. People have been co-evolving with plants for millennia, and since the dawn of humanity we have relied on plants for healing. Every culture on every continent developped its own herbal traditions, many of which survive and thrive to this day. Modern human civilizations have evolved and distanced themselves from nature, but the evolutionary connection between plants and people has not waned in our industrial age. On a deep ecological level, plants and people still share the same roots and speak the same language. Thus, the herbalist does more that treat symptoms with supplements. Relying on intimate knowledge of both plants and people, a herbalist uses medicinal herbs to help restore a person's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
