In the Gard Camargue, also known as the “Little Camargue,” the resort town of Le Grau-du-Roi is a well-known tourist destination. Close to Montpellier and at the mouth of the Rhône Valley, this former fishing village turned seaside resort appears somewhat isolated in a Camargue landscape made up mainly of water, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and to the west of the Rhône Delta.
