I am a naturalist and an artist.
Since childhood, I have always loved to draw as a way to capture what impressed me. Growing up in a small village in the Italian Alps, I spend most of my time between woods and fields, where my attention is quickly captured by the natural world. This early fascination shapes a dual path: I formally study art and later I earn a Master’s degree in Ecology.
I just finished high school when, in the foothills of the Andes, I breathe the dense air of the rainforest for the very first time. Since then, the lushness of the tropics has attracted me like a magnet.
I have always been looking for a way to discover them firsthand. During university, I scout mangroves, volcanic slopes, and coral reefs on the island of Guadeloupe, then I study Indri lemurs in the pristine montane rainforest of Madagascar. Later, I work in a remote campsite in the heart of the Congo Basin, following bonobos through the impenetrable lowland rainforest.
To truly connect with the place I am, I enjoy traveling slowly, whether by hitchhiking, cycling, or sailing. No matter where I go, I always carry paper, pens, watercolors, or pastels. The results are travel journals, sketches, and paintings created directly in the field.
By sharing my drawings, I hope to bring attention to endangered ecosystems, their beauty, and the urgent need for their conservation. I aim to emphasize the profound connections that link all living organisms, including humans, within this delicate web of interdependency.
