June - Super Maratona dell’Etna (also called Etna 0-3000) is a really tough, very scenic mountain running race (~ 43 Km) starting from the sea up to Mount Etna summit.
June - Aetna Cup (Catania) is a large multi-sport event featuring tournaments and exhibitions in various disciplines like football, padel, gymnastics, and more.
August - Fiaccolata dell' Etna (Rifugio Sapienza) is a torch-lit trekking march, organized by local alpine guide, at the sunset, along the trails of the southern side of the vulcano. It is a moment of remembrance for the lost guides and a striking spectacle of the torches that evokes a lava eruption.
August 10 – Perseid meteor at high altitude, far from any light pollution, you can admire a breathtaking starry sky. It’s the best time of the year to witness the shower, as countless shooting stars cross the summer night above Mount Etna.
