Naloxone, also known by the brand name Narcan, is a medication that is used to reverse an opioid overdose. Naloxone works by blocking the effects of opioids on the brain, helping to restore breathing and prevent death.
Opioids are a class of scheduled, and highly addictive drugs used to reduce and treat pain. Not only do they include prescriptions such as Oxycodone, Morphine, Hydrocodone, but also include Heroin and Fentanyl.
Fentanyl is 50x stronger than Heroin and has been found in most illegal substances including Meth, Cocaine, and in some cases Cannabinoids. (Not sold at a legal dispensary)
Look for a limp body, pale face, blueish nail bed and lips, gurgling, sleepiness or unable to awaken, slow breathing or labored breathing, slow heartbeat, or muscle spasms.
