Ben Trevino, CPRC
My name is Ben, and I have nearly seven years clean from a heavy heroin addiction that nearly claimed my life twice. My addiction wasn't exclusive to opioids though. At times, I was addicted to every drug you've ever heard of and a dozen you haven't. My life was completely dysfunctional and spiraling out of control. It was pretty much a foregone conclusion that I wasn't going to live through my addiction to see sobriety again, but the universe intervened in the form of law enforcement busting down my door on a no-knock warrant. The police hauled me off to jail, and there I stayed for a year where I regained some semblance of normalcy. It saved me in the end, but it was an incredibly miserable experience. I like working as a recovery coach so I can impart the wisdom I learned from my tragic situation to help somebody else avoid that level of suffering.

I have been a Certified Peer Recovery Coach with Pathways Engagement Center in Adrian, MI. I have worked at Pathways since we opened almost 5 years ago. What I find most rewarding about my job is having the ability to show true empathy to those still struggling in the grips of addiction. It is an amazing experience to have the opportunity to give back to the recovery community and to help others with Substance Use Disorder. Helping others has become my passion and I take pride in being able to relate closely with our consumers.

Michelle Seay, CPRC
Hi! My name is Michelle Seay, a long-time resident of Lenawee County and Peer Recovery Coach at Pathways for 4 years now. My struggles were with depression and addiction that I carried on most of my younger years. With the time and patience of my loved ones, I was able to break the habits and live a more straight and narrow life. Since being at Pathways I've gained better insight into how addiction works and the role it plays in our mental well-being. Building rapport with those struggling and being able to relate is a rewarding experience and I look forward to helping change the perception of addiction.

I'm Emily, momma of 2 silly babies whom keep me grounded & in touch with reality. I thrive off making others feel good about themselves. I believe everyone is beautiful, no matter the struggles they are going through. If everyone shares their story, it might make others feel a little more normal, more human. I don't hurt myself to fit in, I am who I am & ready to share my story & hear yours. Let's grow from our faults, together. "It's a bad day, not a bad life".
