This page is for preparing students who are not familiar with the science experiment/invention process.
Experiments (investigates the effects of changes or answers the question “Why?”)
Inventions (solves a need or problem, and includes measurements of success)
Demonstrations (how something works) are accepted for grades 1-3
**If you are doing a science project as part of your school's curriculum, please present it at Leland Science Fair! We would love to see what you have done. (There is no need to do another project that same year.)
Is conducted through the scientific method:
Question (What is the effect of x on y?)
Research (Learn more about the topic and how to address the question)
Hypothesis (If x is increased, then y will decrease because..... (or something along those lines))
Materials/Methods (Materials is in a list and write your methods in recipe format)
Data/Results (express data in charts, graphs, and words)
Conclusion (Was your hypothesis correct? Why?)
