C. Arthur Blair is a seven (7) year resident of Leisure World who has served on the Leisure World Democratic Board for three (3) years. In addition to being a member of Leisure World Legislation Advocacy Committee for the past three (3) years, Mr. Blair has also participated in many progressive human rights actions locally and nationally for the past 10, one of the national organizations being the Center For Popular Democracy where he now serves as “Fellow” and has advocated for such things as Climate Justice, Medicare For All, and lobbying the Federal Reserve Board to be more accountable to main street in lieu of Wall Street.
Debbie Browne, Secretary, Leisure World Progressives
My involvement with causes has grown over the past 15 years, starting from not being engaged at all. I have volunteered for getting out the vote, texting in support of specific candidates, and writing postcards and letters to voters urging them to vote. I have also attended rallies and marches, with three Women’s Marches in Washington, DC, and protesting at the White House with Kremlin Annex being among the highlights. I used to think one voice didn’t matter. Now I know that one voice joined with another voice joined with another voice has power.
