Our 2023 annual show kicked off on February 3rd at the Mendelssohn Theater. The theme was "Rhythms of Ireland" and showcased the dancing talents of our members, regardless of past experience. Highlights of the show included a boy-band themed full group dance to music by BTS, 5SOS, CNCO, One Direction, and the Backstreet Boys, as well as an advanced hard-shoe a cappella number, many traditional sets, and dances to Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Star Wars, and Tangled. This was also the first year we incorporated guest performances - including the MSU Irish Dance team, comedy by Joe Gailey, and For Good Measure a cappella. Videos of the performance are available on our Youtube channel.
Our 2022 annual show was held at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theater in January. Titled "Celtic Caras," this exhibition was an original production highlighting Léim's diverse range of Irish dancing skills. Dances were modern, traditional, hard-shoe, and soft-shoe, and were entirely choreographed by the members. Highlights of the show included a disco-themed full group dance to a medley of 70s tunes, an advanced hard-shoe a cappella number, and of course, the annual alumni dance performed with past members.
