Faculty Retreat was a one-day professional development event for the San Francisco State University faculty, sponsored by my unit, the Center for Equity and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CEETL). The event drew 225 people, two keynote speakers, and included breakfast, lunch, and a cocktail-hour reception.
I budgeted for the event, developed agendas for all planning meetings, secured catering from two different caterers, secured event space, secured A/V services, wrote event specifications and planning documents, processed invoices and paid vendors, and coordinated pre-event walkthrough.
The First-Year Pedagogies for Inclusive Excellence (FY PIE) Institute is a two-day professional development event focused on faculty who teach first-year students. The Institute ran twice per year until the COVID-19 pandemic, drew an average of 60 participants each time, engaged about 12 facilitators, and included breakfasts, lunches, and a pie reception.

New Faculty Foundations was a 5-day onboarding event for new faculty hires at San Francisco State University. The 2019 event spanned 5 days and included 38 new faculty participants. The event included breakfasts, lunches, a cocktail-hour reception on Day 5, and a campus-wide resource fair.

Developing new statewide science curricula for grades 5, 8, and high school required two yearly Content Review Meetings and one yearly Bias and Sensitivity Review Meeting in Olympia, Washington. Content Review Meetings spanned 5 days and engaged 5 participants. The Bias and Sensitivity Review Meeting spanned two days and engaged three participants. All meetings were held at the Hotel RL in Olympia, Washington.
I communicated with the hotel and negotiated rooming rates and food options suitable for a variety of dietary restrictions, revised event specifications according to client needs, produced meeting materials and mailed them to Washington, coordinated pre-event walkthrough, and traveled to Olympia, Washington to provide onsite event coordination.
