Hi! I'm Leilani,
I’m 19 and currently a nursing student at Casper College located in Casper Wyoming! I'm originally from Utah but moved to Wyoming when I was 10 and have loved it here ever since! My love for the healthcare field began when I was sixteen and saw a motorcycle accident take place right in front of my eyes. Being the first one on the scene and using the little knowledge of emergency medical care I had allowed me to provide some type of emergency care as tying his leg off with his belt to stop the excessive bleeding. Since that moment I knew that I wanted to go into health care and found the right path to be nursing. I’m super excited to be graduating this fall with an Associate’s in Health Sciences and then applying to the Nursing programs across the state of Wyoming for the Spring semester. Right now, I work as a nanny, which has given me lifelong lessons in learning to have patience, time management skills, and compassion.
I've known I have wanted to do nursing ever since the accident because I love the idea of being part of the body’s natural healing process and helping patients emotionally through hard vulnerable times. Being part of that process is something so sacred and intriguing to see. My goal is to eventually earn a Doctorate in Nursing and become a licensed Nurse Practitioner. I believe in treating everyone with kindness, no matter what their situation is, and being always ready to help whenever you can.
When I’m not studying or working, I enjoy running and participating in school clubs like the Nurses Association. These activities keep me connected to my goals and love for nursing and help me stay motivated throughout my educational career.
