Zack is currently completing the prerequisites to enter the BASIS program at Olympic College. As of right now, he has an Associate’s in Arts through Olympic College and is also pursuing getting certified by COMPTIA.

Olympic College has offered Zack the flexibility and opportunities to expand his horizons and use his free time to work on personal projects.

Through the way he was brought up, Zack has become analytical and efficient in his endeavors, driving him to work until they are done. Through this, he has also developed an open mind, allowing for new experiences and knowledge in almost every circumstance.

What’s good? I am Matthew (aka Daquan) Medina, a driven and focused individual who is deeply passionate about the field of engineering. Currently, I am a sophomore at Olympic College, working towards an associate degree in Science. My ultimate goal is to transfer to the University of Washington and obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. 

Having served as an Operational Specialist in the Navy, I have gained invaluable experience in managing complex projects and ensuring safety while effectively coordinating between different entities. My knack of establishing clear pathways forward has resulted in my promotion to a management position, where I supervised groups of 10-20 individuals and oversaw large-scale projects. 

With a background as a Nuclear Electrician, I possess a strong understanding of equipment schematics and thrive in high-pressure environments. I am deeply committed to streamlining processes and take immense pride in my ability to train and lead others.

Apart from my professional endeavors, I find great joy in staying active and immersing myself in outdoor activities such as hiking, gardening, and camping. Additionally, I am an avid reader and have recently developed a passion for cooking, which I pursue as a hobby.

Hello, my name is Dean Perkins. I am currently studying at Olympic College, working towards a degree in Cyber Security.. Computers and security have always been a huge part of my life. When I was growing up, my dad was a Systems Administrator, and I spent many weekends at his office assisting him. When I grew into an adult, security was my focus, and I joined the army as a Military Police officer. I worked there for 4 years before being medically discharged. With my life almost revolving around computers and security, it makes sense that I work on the next chapter of my life, combining both passions into one. I am CompTIA Security+ certified and Test out Security Pro certified. I completed both with only 6 months of formal education in the computer information field.

Another big passion of mine that I have fallen back into is playing sports. I really enjoy competing, and willingly accept almost every challenge. Recently I discovered Pickleball, and I love doing all things related to the sport. I’ve learned that being active really helps me in every aspect of life.
