The Name

The Lego City Fire Brigade has been called lots of different names. At first it was the Lego City Fire department. Then in early 2018 it was renamed Lego Fire Brigade. The name was changed again in Fall 2019 to its current name, Lego City Fire Brigade.

The History

Lego City Fire Department was first created after a particularily large brush fire where downtown Lego City stands today. The fire devastated all the buildings in its path. The local fire department at the time was located 45 minute drive to the north, thru a very dense forest. The fire department was called North Brickston Volunteer Fire Company. This department had 1 horse drawn pump, pulled by 2 black stallions. The forest caught fire preventing the fire department from getting to the village. Thus the South Brickston Volunteer Fire Company was set up, just south of the forest.

As south brickston was a desirable place to live, more people moved there, meaning that the fire company gained another vehicle. It now consisted of 2 large horse drawn pumpers, each pulled by 2 horses.

A whilst later the now quite large town of bricksburg had another great fire. The fire started in a set of stables behind a large hotel. The fire spred until much of the east city was engulfed in flames. The fire was finally regained control after it burned right down main street, destroying all in its path.

During the years following, Brickston was rebuilt into Lego City, and the volunteer fire department turned into a fully staffed one. Thus the name "Lego City fire Department" was gained. This department had 4 trucks, 1 ladder and 3 pumpers. The 1 ladder and 1 pumper, were kept at the original station whilst a new station was set up south of the river for the other 2 pumpers.

Lego City Intewrnational Airport was opened in 2017, at the same time a new fire station was built (Station 5) and the old original station became the Lego Emergency Services Museum (LESM). At first Lego City Airport had its own department ( Lego City International Fire department) but later that year the department merged with the Lego Fire Brigade who took over the once empty station south of the river.

Modern History

The Lego City Fire Brigade first got Mutual Aid on December 28th, 2019 with Algonquin Fire Department. Lego City Fire Brigade got its website on April 30th, 2020.

The "New Lego City" Fire

The "New Lego City Fire" was a fire that took place in an apartment on Piccadilly Road near the center of "New Lego City", a dense and always developing neighborhood to the west of Downtown Lego City.

The start of the fire was an apparent malfunctioning air conditioning unit. The LCFB was called to the scene early afternoon on the Sunday October 27th, 2019. This is the only call in which every piece of apparatus owned by the LCFB was mobilized.

The fire continued to spread to the shop below but miraculously not to the condo next door due to the side being coated in anti-fire glass. About 3 hours into the call the building collapsed, almost trapping a firefighter inside. LCPF had to be called in to deal with the large crowd of evacuated residents from a 5 block radius.

The fire was finally put out around Lunchtime on Monday October 28th, 2019 but the investigation that followed didn't clear the site until the evening of Tuesday October 29th, 2019.

1 firefighter was non-severely injured and didn't require transport to hospital. On the 1 year anniversary a memorial statue is planned for the park across the street to honor the residents that lost their homes.

The Brickston Brush Fire

Started on 7/4/2020 at 5:12 pm, the Brickston Brush fire raged on longer than 24 hours, and was so large the LCFB needed M/A from multiple different departments! This was officially the 2nd largest fire and the largest wildfire the LCFB ever had to deal with and was the first time the LCFB had to call in Mutual Aid. Lego City transferred to Live Computer Aided Dispatch (Live CAD) as its primary dispatching system on September 20th, 2020.

The Lego City Fire Cadets started on 10/6/2020. This program is very promising and was founded by the current assistant Chief of the LCFB. More on Fire Cadets below:
