His extensive legacy includes sketches, manuscripts, annotated scores, electronic files, educational materials, and correspondence, reflecting his versatility and engagement with society. Wim Henderickx was known for his dialogue with other cultures, building bridges between diverse communities, and fostering inclusion. His legacy is of immense value to researchers, musicians, artists, educators, and the general public, offering insight into the cultural dynamics of recent decades.
The 'Wim Henderickx Legacy' project is focused on cataloging and digitizing Wim Henderickx's archive. The ultimate goal is to ensure that this archive is preserved and made accessible for future generations. During this project, we concentrate on three main activities: firstly, the inventory of the physical archive, with specific segments being digitized; secondly, the review of the existing digital archive and, where necessary, further organization; and finally, the compilation of a detailed register providing an overview of Henderickx's entire oeuvre. In parallel with these activities, a website and database are being developed. The core of the project team consists of Bea Steylaerts, Diederik Glorieux, and Hannes Vanlancker.
This project is an initiative of the HERMESensemble and is realized with financial support from the Flemish Community. It is a tribute to the life and work of Wim Henderickx and ensures that his legacy remains accessible for future generations.
