Chapter 8.4

Lee Seop's outfit was flashier than usual today. His sharp features were accentuated even more by the bold dark blue shirt under a light brown wool blazer, which fit perfectly, hugging his shoulders and chest. Standing next to a man who caught everyone's attention when he went out made Min-kyung self-conscious. She hurried beside him, looking at the lobby floor.

"For your information, we're meeting the son of the firm's CEO." He said while they waited for the elevator.

"Yes. 

"He's young and handsome. I've never met him, but he's well-known for his looks."

M&P CEO Min was a famous person, so naturally, his photo had been exposed to the media. If that man had a son, he would have to be handsome. But why bring this up? Min-kyung looked up with a perplexed expression, and Lee Seop responded with a bright smile.

"But don't get tempted."

"What?"

"He has a girlfriend. He recently turned down matches from big-name families and officially announced his relationship. A college junior. From a poor pharmacist family from a poor neighborhood. It had already been a rumor for a while. Honestly, him being the son of M&P's CEO, he could've easily gotten into politics or started his own company. Why would one tie themselves down so fast when you're so young?" He clicked his tongue lightly.

Min-kyung looked at him indifferently. While the elevator moved up the floors, she wondered what, the model-like Lee Seop, type of family he would choose for a match.

The Italian restaurant where the reservation was made had a much more casual atmosphere than the French restaurant she had been to on the ground level. As soon as Lee Seop entered the restaurant, the host guided them to a table. The handsome son of the CEO and his father stood up... And another person beside them did as well.

"Nice to meet you, Executive Director Tae Yi-seop; I'm Kyung-Gook Min."

"I'm Tae Yi-seop; it's an honor to meet you, sir."

CEO Min first shook hands with Lee Seop and then introduced the rest. "This is my son Min Ji-hoon, and this is attorney Lee Hyeonseong. He just recently joined the law firm. I hired him from a US firm last month. He has a lot of experience in litigation, so we are excited about the addition."

Lee Seop looked at Min-kyung with an eyebrow raised as if he were asking, 'Did you know he was going to be here?' Then he quickly put his professional mask back on and smiled brightly.

“This is TK’s Kang Min-kyung. I wanted to introduce her. She is currently in charge of my work and schedule and is also a key employee at TK. Any work that I need help with is handled by Deputy Director Kang. She helps me a lot."

Hyunseong's face didn't show any surprise at the meeting, but Min-kyung could feel her cheeks burn with embarrassment. She didn't want them to bring up the ugly memories from their last meeting. While she worried and was embarrassed, she missed her introduction. Lee Seop gently tapped her on the back with his fingertips.

"Kang Min-kyung?"

'Did he just call my name?' She came out of her distraction.

Min-kyung looked at Lee Seop, who smiled and said, "Deputy Director, please say hello."

“Yes, I’m Kang Min-kyung, I am the assistant to Executive Director Tau Yi-seop.”

"You must be talented to be so highly spoken about by the Executive Director. It's a pleasure to meet you, Deputy Director Kang Min-kyung." 

She shook CEO Min's hand, which was extended to her. Then, she nodded as she shook the hands of the other two in awkward silence.
