Portfolio Assignment from Professional Learning Module.
According to the course debrief, in the Professional Learning module we gained an understanding of adult learning by focusing on a variety of theories. We identified the similarities and differences between job-embedded professional learning and traditional professional development as well as increased our knowledge-base on effective multimedia presentation-design. We were also introduced to several framework/standards that can be used to assist in developing professional growth goals and to evaluate educator effectiveness.

When delivering professional development, take in consideration not only the Principles of Adult Learning by Malcolm Knowles, but also Mezirow’s Theory of Transformational Learning by C.S. Holt.
Introduce more opportunities for collaborative and active learning and create links between curriculum, assessment and professional-learning decisions in the context of teaching specific contents, as the article by Elaine Vislocky on Northwest Evaluation Association Web site outlines.
