According to the course debrief, in Developing and Implementing a Vision, we focused on two approaches to developing and implementing a vision. First (and primarily), we considered, developed and implemented our own vision for professional learning. At the same time, we also considered the vision of our primary clientele, and oftentimes, this manifested itself in some way, within one's own vision for professional development. This exciting module helped solidify one's own experiences in professional learning and how that has created the kind of professional learning opportunities we provide. Professional learning leaders are often placed into positions of leadership because they have innate qualities. This module helped articulate the background and research that supports those innate qualities. Ensuring that vision is implemented with integrity was also a goal of this module

My Project

This is the vision I am presenting to the stakeholders in the field of adult literacy and basic education in order to increase digital literacy and citizenship skills for our adult learners.

Reflection

Prompt: After reading the materials in Module 6, reflect on how your vision has changed and in what ways.

Response: This unit made me slow down in my everyday flurry of activities and projects and crystalize what it is that I am trying to reach towards in my ongoing efforts.

As a Professional Learning Leader I ultimately serve the adult learners who are at a disadvantage because of the low level of English language literacy, numeracy, digital literacy and employability skills. I equip teachers with skills and strategies to use educational technology effectively so that the adult learners achieve their academic, family and civic goals and their communities benefit and thrive.

My mission and vision align well with the overall mission and vision of the field I work in. I am glad I was given the opportunity to reflect on my mission, vision. values and goals.
