The Learning Owl Lab is seeking five (05) highly motivated individuals to join our team as Trainees:
Expert Mentorship: Receive personalized guidance and support from experienced researchers in the field.
Research Skills Development: Enhance your abilities in research design, data collection and analysis, academic writing, and presentation skills.
Professional Networking: Collaborate with fellow researchers, connect with experts in the field, and expand your professional network.
Publication Opportunities: Disseminate your research findings through various platforms, including academic journals, conferences, and online publications.
Trainees are assessed quarterly across three domains:
Critical Reading: Engage with 3-5 assigned research articles, developing analytical and critical thinking skills.
Scholarly Writing: Synthesize your understanding by producing a 1000-word critical essay based on the assigned readings.
Written Outputs: Share your research and insights by publishing on platforms like the TERECONET Facebook Group, TERECONET Newsletter, language education association newsletters, and recognized publication outlets.
Spoken Outputs: Present your work and engage in academic discourse at conferences, workshops, webinars, or other relevant events.
Contribute to the smooth operation of the lab by managing tasks such as website maintenance, social media management, graphic design, or event organization.
Completed BA degree or current undergraduate status in English Linguistics or TESOL, with demonstrated research experience.
Ability to dedicate 10 hours per week to research activities.
Strong teamwork and independent working skills.
Proficiency in office software and online platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Facebook, etc.).
