It provides crisis counselling, emotional support, and referrals to community or professional services. The counsellors offer support for distress, grief, and intergenerational trauma. The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation provides insight into the truths of residential school survivors and honours them. The purpose of this centre is research, education, and healing, as it holds over 7,000 survivor statements and documents regarding residential schools. They work with Indigenous communities, educators, and the public to make sure the truth about residential schools is understood.
Nations Child & Family Caring Society is a non-profit organization promoting well-being and equity for children, youth, and families within Indigenous communities. They help ensure children are growing up safely at home, get an education, and are respected for their culture. They help advocate for the Indigenous community and provide resources to build resilience.
