Hello everyone!
For the past few weeks, to start my journey of learning sign language, I have been studying the book I checked out from the school library. It is called "asl for beginners". It has helped me learn words like middle school, books, learn, and class. I have also been watching videos from Learn How to Sign on youtube. I find those videos really helpful because they give me visual representation along with visual representation. I wanted to learn asl because it seems like a unique way to communicate. I have been learning to introduce words and phrases such as "hello, my name is, nice to meet you, how are you, etc." I have also learned the hand signs for the alphabet. Another website that has helped me learn more signs is Signing Savvy. This is the most helpful website i've used for my project so far. You type in any word or phrase that you want to learn how to sign and it gives you a person showing you visually how to sign it. Im excited to learn more! I havent been able to meet with my mentor yet, but we have plans I will keep you posted and thank you for reading my first update!
