Description of Resource #3: These are the Parent Guides published by our textbook company. Core Connections 2 is used by both CC2 and CC2.5 classes. CC3 is used by CC2.5 classes. Algebra is used by the Algebra classes.
Resource #1: Khan Academy videos
Description of Resource #1: You can view videos pertaining to many topics in mathematics. Algebra students could view videos on inequalities, probability and simplifying square roots. CC3 students can view videos on transformations, pythagorean theorem and similarity of shapes. Geometry can view videos on area/circumference of circles, polygons and arcs. For the PSSA’s you can view videos pertaining to volume of cones, cylinders and spheres and the videos for the Pythagorean Theorem.
Students can look over the concepts we have covered this year and search for videos on Khan. Examples would be:
Algebra: Solving Equations, Systems of Inequalities, slope, y=mx + b, factoring.
Geometry: Angles relationships, polygons, trig ratios, Law of Sines/Cosines, Pythagorean Theorem, congruent triangles, similarity.
CC3: Solving equations, graphing points, graphing lines, y = mx +b, proportions, order of operations.
Khan also has practice problems and assessment questions students can attempt and receive feedback.
