There are many mathematicians who have earned multiple awards in their fields but John Conway is not just a highly regarded and awarded mathematician he is eminent because of his charisma and personality within the field of mathematics. He was usually thought of as the more charismatic mathematician because of his light hearted style of teaching complex mathematical theories and his ability to explain complex subjects to non-mathematicians through fun and interactive games. I discovered John Conway through my interest in his Game of Life which was so intriguing to me that I searched up his other games and theories. This exemplifies his ability to make math relevant to everyday life. His games were built around his complex mathematical theories in such a way that people are able to see his theories in action in a fun and engaging way, which draws in and encourages young inspiring mathematicians such as myself to enter the field of mathematics because it shows that math is not just complex numbers it is also applicable to different mediums and over many interesting areas. In fact, John Conway's 'Game of Life" became so well known and popular that during the 1970's approximately 25% of computers had the "Game of Life" as a screen saver. It was for this reason that Conway began to almost resent the game's popularity feeling that it overshadowed most of his more important theoretical work in mathematics
