Home Improvement Centers

  • Home Depot - Probably one of the stores most visited by DI Teams. They carry most of the supplies that a DI team might find themselves needing. They also offer mini workshops that younger teams might find helpful.

  • Lowe's - If there isn't a Home Depot near you then there is probably a Lowe's Home Improvement Center. They are also a great source for most of the supplies a DI team might need.

Tool Manufacturers

  • Kreg Tool Company - maker of the Pocket Hole system talked about on the Specialty Tools page and on the page with sample backdrops.

  • Stanley Tools - manufacturer of a variety of hand (non-powered) tools

  • Dewalt - Manufacturer of a variety of powered hand tools (and my personal favorite)

  • eHOW.com - a general how to site. If you are looking for instructions on how to do something in particular you can search this site to see if someone has posted a how-to guide

  • MAKEZINE.COM - a site with instructions on how to make things. They also have a paid subscription service which provides more information and options.

  • ABOUT.COM - Howtos on more than just woodworking topics.

Woodworking sites

  • SAWHORSEWORKSHOP.COM - maintains a webpage with links to lots of woodworking sites

  • WOODWORKING.COM - A Site with link to suppliers of woodworking equipment as well as woodworking how to pages and forums where DI Teams might find useful information.

  • Woodworking Resources for the Beginning Builder - a series of articles and additional links for the beginning builder. It deals mainly with building construction but there is a lot of useful information on the site. (Link provided by Daniel.. a participant at an afterskoolkids.org camp.)
