Effective date: 3 August 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your download, access to, and use of the Learn to spell mobile application and its related services (collectively, the “App”).
In these Terms, “Learn to spell,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the App.
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
If the App is used by a child, the child’s parent, legal guardian, teacher, or other responsible adult must review and accept these Terms on the child’s behalf and supervise the child’s use of the App.
Learn to spell is an educational application designed to support spelling practice.
The App may include:
Structured weekly spelling lessons
Daily spelling practice
Spoken-word and audio activities
Weekly revision activities
Learning progress and results
Custom or personal spelling words
Guest access
Optional user accounts
Backup and synchronization across supported devices
Free and Premium learning content
The App is an educational support tool. It is not a replacement for professional teaching, educational assessment, medical advice, speech therapy, or other specialist services.
We do not guarantee that use of the App will produce a particular academic or educational result.
The App may be used by children under the supervision of a parent, legal guardian, teacher, or other responsible adult.
A child should not independently create an account, purchase a subscription, or provide personal information unless permitted and supervised by an adult and allowed by applicable law.
The responsible adult must:
Review these Terms and our Privacy Policy
Manage the child’s account where appropriate
Supervise purchases and subscription management
Ensure that use of the App is appropriate for the child
Obtain any legally required parental or guardian consent
Schools, teachers, and other organizations are responsible for obtaining any permissions required before directing children to use the App.
The App can be used as a guest without creating an account.
Week 1 is available without a Premium subscription. Some features, progress, and settings may be stored locally on the device.
Guest data may be lost if:
The App is deleted
The device is lost, damaged, or reset
App storage is cleared
The operating system removes the App’s data
The user changes devices
A technical failure occurs
We cannot guarantee the recovery of guest data that was stored only on a device.
Creating an account is optional. An account may allow learning progress, custom words, and settings to be backed up or synchronized across supported devices.
When creating or using an account, you agree to:
Provide accurate information
Use an account you are authorized to use
Keep your login details secure
Notify us if you believe the account has been accessed without authorization
Avoid sharing access in a way that could compromise account security
You are responsible for activity performed through your account, except where responsibility cannot legally be assigned to you.
Account synchronization depends on internet access and the availability of our service providers. Synchronization may sometimes be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable.
You may delete your account using the account-deletion option available in the App.
Account deletion is permanent and may remove the account and its associated active cloud learning data, including synchronized progress and custom words.
Some information may be retained temporarily where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backup processing, or enforcement of these Terms. Additional information is provided in our Privacy Policy.
Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Subscriptions must be cancelled separately through the store through which they were purchased.
Week 1 may be used without purchasing a subscription.
An active Premium entitlement unlocks Weeks 2 through 28 and any other Premium features described in the App at the time of purchase.
Premium access is available only while the applicable entitlement remains active. If Premium expires or is cancelled, Premium content may become locked at the end of the paid access period.
Expiration of Premium does not intentionally delete existing learning progress. However, access to Premium lessons or features may be restricted until Premium is renewed.
We may improve, reorganize, replace, add, or remove learning activities where reasonably necessary to maintain or improve the App. We will not deliberately misrepresent the benefits included with a subscription.
Premium may be offered through monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions.
Before confirming a purchase, the Apple App Store or Google Play purchase screen will display the applicable:
Subscription name
Price and currency
Billing period
Trial or introductory offer, if available
Renewal information
Other material purchase terms
Prices may differ by country, currency, platform, taxes, and store pricing rules. The price shown by the applicable store when you confirm the purchase is the price that applies to that transaction.
Subscription payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not directly receive your complete payment-card information.
Unless the store purchase screen says otherwise:
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period
The store account used for the purchase is charged for each renewal
Renewal continues until the subscription is cancelled
The renewal price will be the price communicated by the applicable store, subject to its rules and applicable law
Any free trial or introductory offer will automatically convert into a paid subscription when the offer period ends unless it is cancelled before the deadline shown by the applicable store.
Offer availability and eligibility are determined by the applicable store and may be limited to certain users, regions, or subscription histories.
You can manage or cancel a subscription through the store account used to make the purchase:
Apple: App Store account subscription settings
Android: Google Play subscription settings
Cancellation normally prevents the next renewal. Premium access will generally remain available until the end of the already-paid billing period, unless the applicable store or applicable law provides otherwise.
Deleting the App, stopping use of the App, signing out, or deleting a Learn to spell account does not automatically cancel a subscription.
You should cancel before the renewal deadline displayed by the applicable store if you do not want the subscription to renew.
The App may provide a “Restore Purchases” feature.
Restoration depends on:
Using the correct Apple or Google account
The store confirming an eligible purchase
The subscription or entitlement remaining valid
Internet and store-service availability
If a purchase cannot be restored, confirm that you are signed in to the store account originally used to purchase it.
Apple and Google process subscription payments and generally administer refunds under their own policies.
Refund eligibility may depend on:
The store through which the purchase was made
Your location
The reason for the request
Applicable consumer law
The store’s refund rules
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation, or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
Subscription prices or available plans may change.
Where required, the applicable store will provide advance notice of a price change and may request your agreement. Depending on store rules and applicable law, you may need to accept the new price for the subscription to continue.
If you do not want to continue after a notified price change, you may cancel through the applicable store before the new price takes effect.
We may change Premium features when reasonably necessary to improve the App, address technical requirements, comply with law or store policies, or maintain the service. We will not knowingly make misleading statements about the content or benefits included with Premium.
You may use the App only for lawful personal, family, or educational purposes.
You must not:
Misuse, damage, overload, or disrupt the App or its services
Attempt to bypass security or access restrictions
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another person’s account or data
Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App except where applicable law expressly permits it
Copy, sell, license, publish, or redistribute App content without permission
Remove ownership, trademark, or copyright notices
Use automated systems to scrape or extract content from the App
Introduce malware or harmful code
Fraudulently obtain or attempt to obtain Premium access
Use the App to violate the law or another person’s rights
Upload unlawful, harmful, infringing, or inappropriate content
We may restrict or terminate access where we reasonably believe these rules have been violated.
The App may allow users to create and store custom spelling words or related learning information.
You retain any rights you have in content you provide. You give us only the limited permission needed to store, synchronize, process, and display that content for operating the App.
You are responsible for ensuring that submitted content:
Is appropriate for the learner
Does not violate the law
Does not infringe another person’s rights
Does not contain harmful code or abusive material
Parents, guardians, teachers, and other supervising adults are responsible for reviewing custom content created for children.
The App and its original content—including its software, design, branding, lessons, text, graphics, audio, and other materials—are owned by or licensed to Learn to spell and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App for personal, family, or educational use on supported devices.
This license does not transfer ownership of the App or its content to you.
“Learn to spell,” its logo, and associated branding may not be used without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
The App may rely on third-party services for functions such as:
App distribution
Account authentication
Database hosting and synchronization
Subscription processing
Purchase validation
Device operating-system services
Text-to-speech or audio functionality
These services may include Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat, and their related services.
Your use of third-party services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for a third-party service to the extent that it is outside our reasonable control.
If you download the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, you must also comply with the applicable store’s terms.
The applicable store provider:
Is not responsible for operating or supporting the App except as required by its own terms or applicable law
Processes purchases made through its billing system
May enforce its store rules relating to the App
May suspend or cancel transactions under its policies
Is not a party responsible for promises made by us beyond obligations imposed by law
If these Terms conflict with mandatory store terms, the mandatory store terms apply to the extent of the conflict.
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, shared, and deleted.
You can read it at:
https://sites.google.com/view/learn-to-spell/privacy-policy
The Privacy Policy forms part of your understanding of how the App operates. Please review it before creating an account or allowing a child to use the App.
We aim to keep the App available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The App or some features may be unavailable because of:
Maintenance
Software updates
Internet or hosting failures
Store-service interruptions
Security incidents
Device incompatibility
Events outside our reasonable control
We may release updates to fix errors, improve security, add functionality, or maintain compatibility. Some updates may be required for continued use of online services.
We may discontinue part or all of the App where reasonably necessary. Where practical and legally required, we will provide appropriate notice.
Spelling activities, definitions, examples, pronunciation, and progress information are provided for general educational purposes.
Although we aim to provide useful and accurate content, language usage and educational needs can vary. We do not guarantee that every word, pronunciation, definition, example, assessment, or result will be complete or suitable for every learner.
Parents, guardians, and teachers should exercise their own judgment when using the App as part of a child’s education.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that:
The App will always be available
Every feature will work on every device
The App will be free from all errors
Synchronization will always be immediate or complete
Learning progress will never be lost
Use of the App will achieve a particular educational outcome
Nothing in these Terms excludes guarantees, warranties, or protections that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the App.
We are not responsible for loss caused by:
Failure to protect account credentials
Deletion or loss of device-only guest data
Unsupported devices or operating systems
Internet, store, or third-party-service interruptions
Use of the App contrary to these Terms
Events outside our reasonable control
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
You may stop using the App at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access to an account or online service if reasonably necessary because of:
A serious or repeated violation of these Terms
Fraudulent subscription or account activity
A security threat
A legal or regulatory requirement
Discontinuation of the service
Where appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to correct a violation.
Termination of App access does not automatically cancel a store subscription. You remain responsible for cancelling through Apple or Google if you do not want future renewals.
Provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, responsibility, disputes, and other terms that logically continue after termination will remain effective.
We may update these Terms when the App, its subscriptions, legal requirements, or store policies change.
The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
If a material change requires notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide that notice or request consent through an appropriate method.
Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires another form of agreement.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of Learn to spell, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections available in the country or region where you live.
Before beginning a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter informally.
Nothing in these Terms prevents you from contacting a consumer-protection authority or using any court or dispute-resolution process available to you under applicable law.
If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our permission. We may transfer our rights and obligations as part of a business transfer, reorganization, or legal process, subject to applicable law.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy describe the agreement concerning use of the App. Store purchase terms and mandatory legal rights may also apply.
