Kizimen volcano in August 2019.
Geologist by training, I hold a PhD in volcanology from the University Paris Cité and the Institut de physique du globe de Paris (France). My PhD was on studying the spatio-temporal dynamics of the magma reservoirs of Kizimen and Bezymianny volcanoes (in Kamchatka, Russia) and of the magma plumbing system of a volcano in Dominica (Lesser Antilles). I was also interested in correlating diffusion timescales with geophysical monitoring signals from previous recent eruptions.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Milan, Italy), within the framework of the ERC MATRICs project of Prof. Sternai. I am studying the contribution of CO2 emissions from Neo-Tethyan magmatism to Cenozoic climate changes via melt inclusion analyses. I am interested in volcanology, petrology and geochemistry to better understand volcanic processes to manage future volcanic crises and understand the climatic impact of volcanoes.
I am the co-founder of GMPV (Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Petrology & Volcanology) seminars at the University of Milano-Bicocca (discover the schedule events here).
