Having returned to her hometown from NYC, Laurie is tasked with surveying and coordinating the mess that is her local television station, headed by old friends from the hometown she left behind. She battles the misogyny associated with the 60s while balancing her work and personal life: her practical anchorman fiancee straining her ambitious career pursuits while reconnecting with the place and people that made her home home.
