Building my Professional Learning Network has shown me that teaching is not a solitary journey, but a collaborative one rooted in shared wisdom and continuous growth. Through my interactions with lecturers, mentor teachers, principals, colleagues, and online communities, I have gained insight into the realities of the classroom, the diversity of learners, and the ongoing evolution of teaching practices.
These connections have helped me develop confidence in my professional identity. Engaging with experienced educators has encouraged me to question, reflect, and refine my own approaches, while peer discussions have reminded me that I am part of a community that learns and grows together. My PLN has become a space where I can seek guidance, share resources, ask difficult questions, and contribute my own ideas — even as a pre-service teacher.
One of the most valuable lessons I have learned is that networking is not only about receiving support, but also about giving back. I have realised that I, too, have perspectives, resources, and experiences worth sharing. By actively participating in conversations, collaborating with others, and remaining open to feedback, I contribute to a collective professional culture that ultimately benefits learners.
My PLN continues to grow, and I am committed to nurturing it throughout my career. I now understand that these relationships will play a central role in keeping me informed, inspired, and connected — helping me evolve into a reflective, innovative, and compassionate teacher.
