Before applying, please read these:

1. The workshop will bring together 12 participants, divided into small groups of 2–4. Each group selects a subtopic from the list on the homepage and collaborates in the weeks leading up to the workshop to understand a paper, with each participant giving two lectures during the week.

2.  What makes this workshop distinct from a traditional conference is its spirit: this is not just an event for presenting math; it is a week of living together in a cabin in nature as a small community. Participants should come prepared not only to think and lecture, but also to cook, clean, shop for groceries, and take part in the trip together. 

3. We expect that participants will attend the workshop in-person, and for the duration of the entire week.

4. We are applying for NSF funding and are optimistic that it will be approved. With these funds, we will cover lodging and food for all participants. We expect to cover participants’ travel expenses as well. However, reimbursement for international or unusually expensive flights may be subject to a maximum amount.

5. We are committed to providing a productive and enjoyable experience for all participants, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or any other aspect of identity. We expect all participants to treat each other with kindness and respect during both remote preparation and the in-person workshop. Since all participants will be sharing the same space for a week, we ask everyone to help maintain a warm and collegial environment. If you experience or witness harassment, please contact the organizers. Participants engaging in inappropriate behavior may be asked to leave.
